The program in Adjumani is the newest for LWF Uganda and is the site of a refugee response, created to help address the massive influx of refugees fleeing conflict in South Sudan. It started in early January 2014, with LWF being one of the very first responders on the ground in the northwestern territory.

This project works to provide South Sudanese refugees with essential services, including:

· WASH: LWF has taken the lead on Water and Sanitation and Hygiene efforts in a number of the settlements set up in Adjumani. This helps keep these refugees healthy and mitigates the spread of a number of diseases.

· Non-food items and warehouse management: LWF distributes important items such as soap, cups, plates, blankets, metal sheeting, and jerrycans.

· Infrastructure building: LWF is helping to build access oads, registration buildings, distribution points in order to improve services provided to refugees in Adjumani.

· Livelihoods: LWF is also involved in supporting Income Generating Activities and similar groups within the settlement.

· Psycho-support and counseling services: LWF supports psychosocial and counseling services to the populations in need as well.
